New Warehouse Coming in 2025!
Silverhook is currently undertaking a significant milestone in our company's journey - construction has officially begun on our new warehouse! This development reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demands of our customers and enhancing our operational capabilities. As one of the largest manufacturers remaining in the UK, the new building is needed to help with the manufacturing and storing of more products, thus decreasing turnaround times. Check in every few weeks for updates.
Why a New Warehouse?
The decision to expand our facilities stems from the increasing complexity and volume of orders that we undertake. Our new warehouse will feature more filling machines and large amounts of storage racking, tailored specifically for the safe storage and management of various chemical products. By investing in this project, we aim to streamline our logistics processes, reduce delivery times, and enhance customer satisfaction.
What's Coming Next?
As we start to break ground (pun intended!) on this exciting project, we invite you to follow our journey. We'll be sharing updates on the construction process, outfitting, and features of our new facility. We are working with the construction company to ensure a seamless transition, so you can continue to rely on us for your product needs without any disruption. We look forward to unveiling our new warehouse in 2025!
[22/11/24 Update]
The gas membrane has been installed—this thin plastic layer serves as a barrier, preventing harmful ground gases from infiltrating the building. It offers protection against toxic, flammable, asphyxiating, and potentially explosive gases, and it also functions as a damp-proofing membrane. The gas membrane is designed to selectively permit certain gases to pass while effectively blocking others, with the rate of diffusion varying based on molecular size, solubility, and diffusivity.
Next week, we’ll be laying the concrete base.
[29/11/24 Update]
The concrete base has now been laid. Concrete floors are highly durable, energy-efficient, and flame-resistant, making them an ideal choice for our new warehouse. This strong foundation will support our operations and contribute to the overall safety and longevity of the facility.
From December 9th, we will enter Phase 2, with the steelwork going up.
[12/12/24 Update]
The steelwork is now being put up. Steel beams are being methodically hoisted into place by cranes, forming a robust skeleton that will support the vast space within. This phase of the project not only highlights the engineering know-how required to build such a structure but also sets the stage for the logistical operations that will soon take place inside.
[17/12/24 Update]
The warehouse is now really starting to take shape! With the bones of the structure in place, the size of the new building is becoming apparent. With an expansive floor plan designed to accommodate filling machines and large amounts of storage racking, the warehouse will soon become a hub of activity and help streamline the flow of goods.
[09/01/25 Update]
Our construction team is doing a great job erecting the steel structure of our new warehouse. In the coming weeks, we will look to begin the next phases of construction, including the installation of roofing and walls, as well as essential utilities.
[15/01/25 Update]
The steelwork for our new warehouse is officially COMPLETE! The skeleton of our future facility is up, and we're now moving on to the next phase - adding the roof and side panels.
